HAIR TRANSPLANT BEFORE AND AFTER PICTURES

Before and After Pictures of Hair Transplants

All photos being displayed on this page are of Dr. Bolton’s patients.  Each photograph is of a hair transplant patient nine months to one year following only one procedure.  As you will notice there is a range of hair types, genders and races.  All of the surgeries used a variation of graft sizes to assure naturalness and to maximize density.

ALL EXAMPLES BELOW ARE ONE PROCEDURE ONLY

Frontal Hairline Restored

When the frontal hairline is restored it reframes the face and creates a much more youthful appearance.  With only one procedure you can achieve a much greater volume and density as displayed here.

Restoring Hair in Frontal Regions

These six patients all had very nice hair types.  They all had good density, and a nice hair shaft diameter.  The quality and the quantity of donor hair are extremely important for overall results.

Although they were all almost completely bald in the front, we were able to restore there frontal regions and bring them both up to speed with their existing hair in one procedure.

This type of density could never be achieved in one procedure with follicular unit grafting alone.  By incorporating the multiple follicular groupings with the micro and follicular units we are able to achieve these amazing results.

Restoring Hair to the Crown

The crown happens to be one of the more challenging areas to restore.  The reason being is the natural occurring spiral.  If the spiral is intact the hair angles must be followed exactly.  If there is not any hair in the crown, then the spiral needs to be recreated to best suit the patients needs.

The crown generally needs more hair then other areas.  Other areas on the scalp get to take advantage of the angle of the hair all going in the same direction, and it has a shingling effect which appears fuller.  However, in the crown it has a constantly changing angle, so it has the tendency of opening up and having more of a see through appearance.  For this reason it important to move as much hair as possible in to the crown to counter the constantly changing angle of the hair.

Balding with Extremely Fine Hair

This is a photograph of a bald elderly male with extremely fine hair.  This is a perfect example as to why follicular units should not be used exclusively.  If only follicular units were used on this patient he would have virtually no results.  By using the multiple follicular units and various sized grafts in this particular patient helped him achieve a density that would never be achieved from follicular units alone.

Hairline Restored

This gentleman pictured here considered this to be his hairline.  As you can see, we needed to completely restore his hairline because we could not count on his own existing hair to stay.  Once we restored the hairline we were able to completely change this individual’s look for the better.

Frontal Hairline Lowered

Once a new hairline is established, it completely changes the look from all sides.  By lowering the frontal hairline it changed the profile, and makes it much more appealing.

Lowering Hairline Restores Youthful Appearance

This is another patient with a finer hair type.  The hairline was lowered and the face was reframed giving a much more youthful appearance.

Multiple Follicular Unit Grafting for Those with Fine Hair

This gentleman here had extremely fine hair. The reason I keep introducing patients with fine hair is to reiterate the point of how imperative it is to use multiple follicular unit grafting.   Micro and follicular unit grafting was used, however behind those grafts are the various sized graft which help to restore its density.

Bald Crown Restored

This is a reverse image of the previously discussed gentlemen with super fine hair.  As you can see here, the bald crown from one surgical procedure is almost undetectable.  Had this patient received only follicular units in his crown he would have wisp with an extremely visible scalp.

Hair Transplants for Women

As you can see here, this is a middle aged female experiencing a typical male pattern of hair loss.  Her hairline was intact.  All that was needed to be done was to restore the density behind her existing hair line.  One simple procedure of various sized hair grafts restored the missing density and volume.

Creating Density and Volume

As displayed in this photograph this patient does not have an existing hairline.  A complete hairline needed to be created to reframe the face.  Once the hairline is established, we build behind it to create density and volume.

Once again, by lowering the hairline it reframes the face and gives a much more youthful appearance.

African American Hair Transplant

This young African American gentleman felt he looked too old for his age and wanted to lower his frontal hairline.  By restoring the frontal hair line with micro grafts, and then transitioning into follicular units we are able to lower the frontal hairline and reframe the face and give a much more youthful appearance.

Hair Restoration for an African American Male

This is a picture of an African American male who had some generalized thinning with a receding hairline.  By using a combination of grafting techniques we are able to restore density and create a much fuller appearance.

Changing the Hairline Changes the Entire Look

Here are some great examples of how just restoring the recessions can completely change the look and give a much fuller hairline.  When the hairline is restored it not only changes the frontal image, it changes the profile as well for an overall more appealing appearance.

Example of a Drawn Out Hairline

This is an example of a drawn out hairline and area to be transplanted.  As you can see, once it was completed and grown in, the previously visible scalp is practically undetectable!

Bald with Extremely Fine Hair

This patient was completely bald, and he had a finer hair type.  These results would have never been achieved with any one particular type of grafting technique, especially follicular unit grafting solely.  By using a combination of grafting techniques we are able to obtain these incredible results.

The frontal hairline was restored with micro grafts and follicular units.  Then behind the hairline grafts, the multiple follicular unit grafts were mixed in with various sized grafts and are used to create the density and the volume.
